Lokalap - Gastro

A custom-built framework for creating location-based websites that collect and list places. One example is gastro.hu, which displays restaurants across Hungary.

My inpact on the project

• Worked as the sole developer, designing and building the framework and related projects
• Refactored the frontend codebase, improving usability, responsiveness, maintainability, and visual consistency
• Implemented SEO improvements and continuous monitoring to increase search visibility
• Optimized the location search functionality, making it more accurate and significantly faster
• Designed and built the framework as the sole developer, reusing and refactoring existing code of location-based websites
• Implemented a cron job to collect and process data for 6+ million restaurants worldwide using multiple external APIs
• Ensured data reliability, performance, and scalability for high-volume datasets
• Integrated Sendinblue to support the delivery of marketing and transactional emails
• Integrated PayPal payment, enabling location owners to pay for highlight their businesses on the platform
